I had same problem like you after I created standart account and then when I login admin account message pop up says , catalyst host application has stopped working. So I tried everything as system restore unistall CCC and re-install etc. which did't help at all. But there is solution,
I know this solution because if I overclock my gpu clock + ram and if gpu cannot handle it , computer will crash and will force you power cycle. But when you enter windows and CCC starts computer will crash again. Because my overclock changes saved to my current profile so everytime CCC starts and load that profile computer will crash. Fix this one was start computer in safe mode and manually find profile files and delete them then restart computer CCC will start fine without any profile and all overclocking settings will be return previous state which is gpu stable.
Return to topic , some odd reason when we create another account on windows, CCC profile files messed up and this cause host application stopped working. Only solution I found is deleting profile files , here steps i took:
I have windows 7
1 - Go to C: drive (or whatever drive you use in tht matter) inside C: drive there is hidden folder called ProgramData go inside this folder and you will see ATI folder delete ATI folder. (programdata folder is hidden so you have to change your folder view options to show hidden folders)
2 - Go to C:UsersyourwindowsuserAppDataLocal (change yourwindowsuser with your admin account name that you use when you login windows) there you will see another ATI folder just delete it.
3- Reboot your computer and login your admin account. Everything will start fine. CCC will work fine but all your previous profiles gone.
Enjoy.
